The Day I Realised the Power Was in My Hands
Sometimes a new beginning starts with a quiet realisation: I have something to give.
For me, that realisation became House of Dee.
I have always loved encouraging people—helping someone find hope, recognise their worth, or believe that they can begin again. Through candle-making, I found another way to express that love.
I could use my hands to create something that would enter another person’s home and accompany a moment in their life.
A celebration. A slow evening. A difficult day. A fresh start.
A scent for the way you feel
We do not feel the same every day. Some days we want sweetness and joy. Other days we long for freshness, warmth, or a little stillness.
That is part of what inspires my candles: making space for those different moods and moments. You do not have to arrive happy to deserve something beautiful.
Creating helped me feel visible, too
As I poured my creativity into candles, I began to see what my hands could do. Something I had imagined became something I could hold—and share.
That feeling matters to me because I want the person receiving my candle to feel seen as well.
Behind every order is a person with a story I may never fully know. That is why the message accompanying a candle matters just as much to me as its appearance and fragrance.
A little light, a personal reminder
When you light your candle, I hope you give yourself a moment to pause.
Let that moment belong to you. Remember something you are proud of. Make room for what you feel. Consider one small thing you would like to do for yourself tomorrow.
And if the candle is a gift, let it carry the words we sometimes struggle to say:
“I see you. You matter to me. You deserve a little light.”
That is the heart of House of Dee.
